Guilty Pleasure Songs – Top 20

Since the specie man can not live on politics alone, I like to change pace once in a while with completely unrelated topics.  This post was inspired by a recent blog by a friend who runs LegionofWoo.com.

The topic was what he considered the absolute worst song of all time – – “We built this city” by Starship.  Unfortunately for me, I agreed with many of his points related to cliched lyrics and a cringe-inducing cheesy 80’s video…but my conscience was troubled.  This is a song that when it comes across the radio, I almost always stop changing the channels to listen further.  A song that I would typically not admit publically, but even quietly (or not so quietly) sing along.

But first, it seems necessary to establish my man’s man credentials on my other musical tastes.  Metallica, Tool, GnR, ACDC, Pink Floyd, Toadies, Rusted Root, Blink 182, Eminem, Snoop, Garth, CCR, Skynard, Paul Simon, and numerous others – – most of which would probably be considered immune from a “WTF?!” reaction.

Now, for my WTF?! Top 20 guilty pleasures songs.  You can all decide for yourselves if my man-card privelidges should be immediately revoked
